It is Scholarship Time ….. CYC is pleased to offer a scholarship award of $750 to two college bound students each year. Please review the criteria below and encourage all who qualify to apply. Each year we have had outstanding candidates and we are sure that this year will continue this trend.
Criteria for Consideration: The successful candidate must be a high school senior and – (a) will possess a “B” average or better and be a student in good standing, (b) have a demonstrated record of successful participation in community service organizations or athletics, (c) will be currently enrolled in the Hendrick Hudson Central School District or a child/grandchild of an owner member of the Cortlandt Yacht Club, (d) will have two (2) written recommendations from (1) teacher/school official and
(1) personal (non-relative), (e) have submitted a written response to an essay question determined by the scholarship committee.
The scholarship application for 2010 will be posted on the message board near the Club Office and available at the Hendrick Hudson Guidance Office.
The application must be mailed and post marked no later than May 13, 2009 to:
